To further enhance the automation control level of existing compressor stations, in 2020, West-East Gas Transmission carried out a pilot transformation project for the "One-key start and stop" function at the Zhongwei and Gaoling compressor stations. By modifying the on-site process and control programs, the project aimed to reduce manual operations, improve on-site control capabilities, and realize the "One-key start and stop" control function for compressor stations, achieving satisfactory results.
As planned, in 2021, West-East Gas Transmission plans to carry out the "One-key start and stop" transformation project for a total of 8 compressor stations, including Jingbian, Yanchuan, Puxian, Huaiyang, Lushan, Guangzhou, Nanchang, and Liling.
This project achieves remote automatic control functions for the control center, including one-button pressure boost start, one-button stop, one-button shutdown of multiple units, automatic load distribution control, unit speed control, and process switching and conduction. After the transformation, dispatchers are relieved from the need for extensive remote equipment operations, eliminating the risk of human error and significantly reducing their workload. The number of remote control operations for dispatchers/station operators has been consolidated from dozens of individual steps into a single-button control, and the start-up process, which previously took several hours, has been shortened to within 1-2 hours, greatly improving operational efficiency. This allows dispatchers to focus more on the overall operation and maintenance of the pipeline network. It also enhances the intelligent automation level of the stations, reduces pipeline operating costs, meets the functional requirements of remote control for compressor stations in response to the transformation of natural gas pipeline production management models, realizes the centralized control needs of the control center over compressor stations, and lays the foundation for the advancement of regionalized management models.
The "One-key start and stop" function improves the reliability of compressor station start-up and shutdown processes. Simultaneously, the promotion and implementation of this technology align with the development plan of natural gas pipeline control models, transitioning from decentralized dispatching to centralized dispatching, then to comprehensive remote control, and finally to intelligent control. Therefore, the construction of the "One-key start and stop" project is highly necessary.
OHZEC undertakes the equipment procurement and on-site construction for the "One-key start and stop" project at 5 compressor stations (Jingbian, Yanchuan, Huaiyang, Lushan, and Guangzhou). This includes the design scope of process, compression units, control systems, and power supply and distribution, as well as material procurement and management, various formalities handling, engineering construction, organizing joint commissioning, individual equipment commissioning, completion acceptance, commissioning and guarantee, engineering warranty, asset transfer coordination, and as-built drawings.
